The Purpose of IACBA

Dedicated to maximizing quality within the international automotive supply chain, the International Automotive Certification Body Association (IACBA) focuses on promoting integrity and credibility of automotive supplier certification. To do so, IACBA provides education and training to its members and maintains a close working relationship with the International Automotive Task Force (IATF), which provides oversight to the industry. Through objective, 3rd party quality assessments, our internationally recognized members certify automotive suppliers to ISO/TS 16949 standards. To belong to IACBA, members must be registrars approved by the IATF to provide certification to ISO/TS 16949.

Education and Training
IACBA develops materials and provides training to IATF-approved certification body auditors on:

	Quoting in accordance with the Rules
	Process auditing in the automotive supply chain
	Effective stage-1 audits (readiness reviews)

This ongoing activity provides information on new topics as needed to address changes in the industry, and promotes conformity of Automotive Management Systems through consistent application of ISO/TS 16949.

IATF Liaison
IACBA members gain direct access to the IATF to discuss ideas, concerns and issues that improve the overall supplier assessment process. IATF members frequently participate in IACBA activities, and we commonly work together to meet industry challenges. This has led to sanctioned interpretations, unified responses to frequently asked questions, new approaches to automotive auditing and the continual betterment of the industry.
